The year is 1941, 2 years into World War Two. Numerous Canadian Troops fight alongside Britain and France, including its colonies. They mainly fought against Germany.
I'll be back, please don't worry.
Men were expected to fight overseas and work in the war effort. The enlistment age varied from 20-45. This was passed as a law in the Conscription Act.
I wish there was something more we could do.
The men enlisted had to leave their wives, mothers, and children. This would result in the women's job of taking care of their children and families.
