  • Nicotine is a chemical compound that is found in tobacco. Tobacco is usually found in things like cigarettes, dip, pipes, and many more.
  • Nicotine affects your body in many ways. In the cardiovascular system, nicotine acts as a stimulant. Nicotine also causes vasoconstriction which is the narrowing of blood vessels.
  • Nicotine causes an increase in your metabolism. Which is why smokers are typically 6-9 pounds less than non-smokers
  • Why do smokers weigh less than nonsmokers.
  • Nicotine has a depressant effect on the appetite. This means that it takes away your appetite. Many smokers have anorexia because of this.
  • How does nicotine effect your appetite?
  • Although nicotine doesn't directly cause diabetes, it highers' your blood pressure, making you 40% more likely to get diabetes.
