A young knight was walking along a road when he found a young woman. He wanted her, so he raped her.
The king and queen decide to punish the knight for his actions. The king wants to kill him; however, the queen has something else in mind. The queen tells the knight to set out on a journey to find what a woman wants more than anything else. If he is successful, he will live.
The knight set out on his journey to find the answer to the queen's question.
After a year of searching, the knight could not find the answer and decided to return to the queen. On the way home, he ran into an ugly old woman who promised to give him the answer. In exchange, the knight had to do whatever the woman asked of him.
The old woman asked the knight to marry her. The knight was repulsed. The old woman gave the knight a lesson in respect and nobleness. She told the night that if he accepted her now, by morning she would turn into a beautiful woman. The knight accepted.
Morning came and sure enough, the woman had told the truth. The knight awoke and discovered a beautiful young woman lying in his bed. The knight was elated. The two lived together happily ever after.
