- pearl harbor was attacked deceber 7th, 1941 that set off a chain of events that caused us involvement in ww2 it also heightened racial tensions with Japanese amercians 
- Women
- In 1941 Americans took some of the Japanese Americans to concentration camps to make sure they wearnt spys when they returned home in 1945 white people in California were hositle by firing shots into japenese amercian homes and destroying property 
- Jewish Americans
- During ww2 after African American soldiers were allowed to enter the war, they still had to go to different camps and if they needed blood they had to get blood from a different storage thing than the white soldiers did
- Mexican Americans
- after the men left for war more jobs opened up and women filled those roles but they were nit allowed to serve in the war 
- When the wars sides were being divided there were many people who immigrated and supported germany so as the war was escolating those people would agree with hitlers views and be hostile towards jewish amercians 
- people began to see Mexican Americans as a  "threat to white community" sailors would target the Mexican Americans in the Los angles area
