Storyboard Text

  • This layer is the layer humans live on and the temp varies from 200 to 400 degrees Celcius.
  • This is the crust. This layer of Earth is the smallest or thinnest out of all of the layers.
  • Today I will be taking a journey to the center of the Earth. Want to come along?
  • Being the thinnest also makes this layer the least dense.
  • The lithosphere is made up of rigid brittle rock.
  • This is the lithosphere.  The lithosphere is the second to least dense layer placing after the crust.
  • The temperature of the lithosphere is around 300 to 500 degrees Celcius.
  • The lithosphere is pretty thin because it is made up of the upper mantle and part of the crust.
  • The temperature of the asthenosphere is around 1300 degrees Celcius
  • This is the Asthenosphere. The Asthenosphere is the layer under the Lithosphere.
  • This is the inner core.
  • This is also between the mantle and crust.
  • This layer is actually less dense than the lithosphere but denser than the crust.
  • This is the mantle. The mantle's temp varies from 500 to 900 degrees Celcius.
  • This layer is denser than the previous layers but is less dense than the outer and inner core.
  • The temperature of the outer core ranges from about 4400-6100 degrees Celcius.
  • This is the outer core.
  • This layer is more dense than every layer except the inner core.
  • The outer core is made out of liquids so S- Waves are not able to pass through it.
  • The inner core is hotter than the sun and it is a solid.
  • This is the very middle of the Earth and is also the densest out of all layers.
