  • In 1763 the British said that Americans couldn't settle past the Applanation mountains so that the natives wouldn't get angry and attack. It was essentially to protect the Americans but the Americans thought different.
  • The Townshend acts
  • the your total is 2 pounds.
  • It was a act passed in 1765 by Parliament that said that all paper had to be taxed and to get a stamp.
  • The Boston Massacre
  • This was an act put in place in 1765 by Parliament that said that the British solders had to stay with them. This also meant that the Americans had to take care of them while they stayed. The king originally said that the solders had to stay in Boston to keep an eye on the colonists.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • Lets throw this tea because the British are taxing it.
  • The Townshend acts were acts put in place in 1767 that taxed items such as glass, paper, paint, and tea. This was put in place by Parliament but Charles Townshend proposed it to Parliament. The Americans didn't like this and protested. they also boycotted.
  • Why is it so expensive now?
  • Actually its because the British are not taxing things like glass paint paper and tea.
  • In 1770 Samuel Adams organized a riot where they threw ice and snowballs at the redcoats witch they called the lobsterbacks. 5 men died and the Americans thought it was terrible that the British shot at the colonists.

  • The Boston tea party was a protest in 1773 where colonists dressed up as native Americans threw tea into the Boston harbor because they were mad about the taxes the British put on them the loyalist were fine with the taxes and the Townshend acts because they knew they could drink Dutch tea. But patriots like Sam Addams weren't.
