How can I prevent ticks from coming on me in this case?
There are two reasons on how you could’ve caught Lyme disease. It could be because you touched your dog and ticks like to stay in between fur or you might’ve come in direct, or indirect contact with something that had ticks during your hiking trip.
A. To prevent dear ticks or black-legged ticks from coming on to your skin, I suggest you use insect repellent, wear long clothing, and shower after coming back from outdoor areas. A helpful tip would be to wear light-colored clothing to easily spot ticks.
B. That’s helpful! What if there’s an outbreak?
A. Luckily, Lyme disease is non-contagious, so the only way is to follow the suggestions I told you to prevent ticks from coming on to your body.
