  • *First battle of the Texas Revolution *Texans hung a flag saying "Come and Take It" on their cannon *Showed that Texans had become more defiant toward the Mexican government and proved to Texans that the Mexican army could be defeated and independence was possible
  • Constitutional Convention of 1836
  • *The time William B. Travis sent out his letter was when there was a revolution called "Siege of Alamo" *William B. Travis sent out a letter "To the People of Texans & All Americans in the World" to let them know what happened at the Alamo and attempted to recruit people to come and help fight *Travis ended his letter with "Victory or Death"
  • Fanin's Surrender at Goliad
  • *Sam Houston gave the men the option to destroy the Alamo but the Texans decided to stay and defend it since it was the only fort between the Anglo settlements *All Texans we killed including: William B. Travis, James Bowie, and Davy Crockett *Turning point in the war because it delayed Santa Anna long enough for Sam Houston to organize his Texan forces

  • *Texas delegates meet at Washington-on-the-Brazos *George Childress wrote the Texans' Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836
  • *The time was the revolution of "the Battle of Coleto Creek/Goliad Massacre *Texan Colonel Fannin on his way to San Antonio stopped in an open field/prairie to rest his men *Fannin's army held off several charges but eventually surrendered *Fannin's troops were marched to Goliad and held for about a week *On March 27, 1836 Santa Anna gave the order to kill them all of them *Santa Anna and the Mexican Congress had already stated there were no prisoners in this war that all Texans soldiers were to be treated as pirates *Only a few Texans were able to escape
  • *This battle started after the battle of Caleto Creek/Goliad Massacre *Last battle of the Texas Revolution *Santa Anna was captured the next day and surrendered to Sam Houston *After that, Treaties of Velasco ended  the Texas Revolution
