- The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle and was referred to the shot heard around the world because it was the first shot of the war.
- You will not defeat us on our home soil!
- The colonist were tired of the British rules and how unfair they were of the taxation, so they created the Declaration of independence to get away and call themselves patriots.
- I am done with the unfairness of the taxing on us.
- We Surrender!
- The Battle of Saratoga was a huge turning point for the colonists as them and some of the native american tribes help defeat the British. This also help persuade the French to help us. But the Africans were on the British side for freedom.
- George Washington and the colonist had to bunker at Valley Forge, but in this time, the colonist got more military experience, and
- The Battle of YorkTown was the best going for the colonist because we were able to trap the British in a peninsula, which made them surrender, ths ending there military power there.
- After the surrender of Yorktown, the colonist and the British settled with the idea of a treaty that will stop the war but give the colonists freedom from the British in return. Sadly, woman didn't really get much freedom as in they were treated different from men.
