Storyboard Text

  • Hello and welcome to my presentation about my future career! I will be explaining to you what a GS-14 astronaut does on a daily! Keep your question til the end because they may be answered.
  • The reason why I want to be an astronaut is so I could be the first black woman to go onto my favorite planet, Mars, as well as learn more about space, galaxies, black holes and possible parallel universes.
  • The minimum is a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, bioscience, physical science or math. I want to get a Phd in astrophysics and astronomy because space, galaxies and stuff like that is very interesting. Also, the average annual salary for a GS-14 astronaut is $141,715.

  • An astronaut usually has a very busy schedule everyday according to NASA. In the morning they do the usual things people would do down here on Earth despite being in zero gravity. After the morning routine, astronauts begin their tasks that have been assigned to them for the day which can range from few to a lot. In space, it is far more exhausting to walk than it is here on Earth so they have to have 3 meals a day, no exceptions.
  • This career connects to STEM because they use science, technology, engineering and mathematics in order to created rovers, rockets and other things that they will need for the people who are already in space and need supplies or materials for a task.
  • I know that I need to take high school credit courses now so that way I will already have some of my classes out of the way during high school.
  • Well that's it folks! everything you need to know about GS-14 astronaut has been presented to you! Have a great day and stay safe out there!
  • During high school, I will take college credit courses so I can graduate with my associates degree before getting my high school diploma. After that, I will go to Princeton college because it is a very good school when it comes to scientific research and it will benefit me in trying to make it into NASA. In addition, I will stay there for 4 years so I can get my Phd in astronomy and astrophysics.
