Teddy- the main character, yellow head and snake spits in his eye Mother- Ted mother who has the same traits as the father Father- Ted dad who has disbelief & mistrust in the black culture. Gideon-black servant of the family. He cures Teddy of the venom in his eye Doctor-isn't able to help Teddy. He is surprised when Gideon's medicine works on Teddy and wishes to know the ingredients
Exposition: Is When teddy was born. The Family been trying to have a child and they finally have one. Teddy get spit in eye by snake and gideon uses african traditions to heal him.
When Gideon will not give up what he used to save teddy to the doctor.
The family understand the importance to Gideon culture, they realize it's the last thing he got left and they accept that.
Theme-The power of cultural differences and social injustice My personal reaction-Today there is cultural clashes like ones displayed in this story. Some cultures will not get along.
