- Sarai bears no child so she gives Abram the blessing to embrace the slave girl Hagar. Hagar then had great news, she was pregnant and they named the child Ishmael, had the Lord told them to.
- Sign of the Covenant
- The Lord had said to Abraham, I will give you a son. But Abraham laughed at the comment and said How can a hundred year old man born a child? Then God said, No, your wife Sarah shall bear a son, and you shall name him Isaac
- God also promised that Sarah bear a son. The Lord shall bless her name and she shall rise to nations. But Abraham had laughed at the comment because how shall a hundred year old man born a child. Then God said No, but your wife Sarah shall near a son, and you name him Isaac
- I am the God Almighty. I will make a covenant between us, Abram. And shall you no longer have the name Abram but your name shall be Abraham. For I have made you ancestors of multitude nations. And as for your wife Sarai she shall no longer bear that name but now be Sarah.

- Like the Lord had said Sarah was able to have her son and name him Isaac has the Lord had asked. He shall be the first born child and not Ishmael.

- The Lord also promised that Sarah will now bear a child and name him Isaac. But both Abraham and Sarah laughed knowing that they can know have a child at such age.
