- If the duke keeps doing favors for you, Cesario, you are likely to be more advanced: he has known you for three days and you are already friends.
- Here he comes.
- Who has seen Cesario?
- I am here sir!
- Cesario, I want to talk to you. You know many things about me. I have told you all my secrets. So please go to her house and tell her my love for her. Stay there until they let you speak to her.
- I will try my best but I do not know if she will let me in because of how sad she is.
- Viola talks to herself as if Viola was talking to Cesario. She tries to assure herself that she is doing good with the Duke and that she is ahead of everyone.
- Do everything you can to be able to tell her!
- What should I do if I get the chance to speak to her?
- Tell her of all my love. Make her pay attention to me and fall in love. She will listen better to a younger man like you.
- Duke Orsino comes looking for Cesario(Viola) because he has something for him(her) to do.
- I don't think so sir.
- You have all of the qualities for this job. You guys go with him. I prefer to be alone. If you are able to succeed I will give you my fortune.
- Duke Orsino asks Cesario(Viola) to do a favor for him. He wants Cesario to tell his love Olivia that she loves her. Cesario is willing to do it but he is not sure if the lady Olivia will come to the door because of how sad she is. She is sad because of the death of her father and brother.
- I will try my best to make her love you.
- It will be very hard because I am in love with you myself.
- Duke Orsino really wants lady Olivia to love him so he tells Cesario(Viola) to do whatever he can to get his message to her. Cesario gets what he wants but does not know what he wants him to do if he(she) gets to talk to her.
- Duke Orsino believes that Cesario(Viola) is the person to do this task because of his girly attributes. Cesario does not believe that he(she) is the person for it and argues about it.
- Duke Orsino explains to Cesario(Viola) why he is the best for the job. Cesario agrees to do the job and says that she will try her best. Then Cesario thinks to herself that it will be hard because she loves Duke Orsino.
