Hello Radha, I hope that you're doing well. After looking at the reports, I suggest that you take iron supplements so as to prevent anemic conditions and loss of blood.
Which one seems like a better option?
But doctor, wouldn't it be better if she takes foods that are rich in iron to prevent that? Medicine intake should be kept to the minimum during pregnancies.
I believe that supplements would be better since your body may lack iron and the pills can provide you with the required nutrients. You're 5 weeks pregnant and iron will help you curb anemic conditions which can have impacts on your baby such as premature birth and low delivery weight.
The current lifestyles of human beings is very disrupted and the conditions of the food are terrible and inorganic. This means that people might not be able to obtain the required vitamins needed and supplements can ensure that they get it and ease the human body's functioning.
I think each of them have their pros
But the the same time, iron rich foods help in boosting one's immune system by promoting the growth of RBCs and WBCs to fight diseases. They also are fresh and organic which is even better as they're a oxygen carrier for the RBCs that transport nutrients across the body.
Moreover, pills also support mental and sport related performance and can enhance it for a better lifestyle
Iron rich foods have downsides too. Having them too much can lead to vomitting and diarrhea and stomach pain and we wouldn't want to let Radha go through those.
I'll try to reccoment the cheapest alternative in the market. Don't worry.
What about money? Supplements can be expensive
But iron rich foods also improve muscle contraction as they supply iron to the body's tissues and see to its contraction, which is needed for maintaining muscle tone and elasticity. Moreover, iron supplements can be toxic if taken in large amounts and there can be side effects too. Supplements can have side effects such as heartburn, nausea, liver damage and headaches which could threaten Radha's life and the baby's.
Yes doctor, we're not sure if we could afford the pills.
Both of you must understand that people form different cultures and societies have different diets and not all of them may be rich in iron. Some may provide more of the B vitamins whilst other may provide more of the D vitamins. Everything depends upon the avalability of certain crops.
I think that it is my responsibility as an individual to ensure that I consume healthy foods with iron in it otherwise I will have to take pills. In the end, it is the baby that matter
Yes doctor, we understand. We already follow a vitaming rich plan at home.
Radha, after looking at all the viable option, I'd reccomend that you have a diet that is high in iron to curb the deficiency along with having 10mg of dietary supplements to give you that extra nutrients.
Hmm. Let me think about it.
I agree with you doctor.
Perfect.
I have decided that for my benefit, at the baby's, I shall consume foods such as apricots and beans along with leafy vegetables such as brocolli and kale. However, every body functions differently and in case the iron requirement is not made, I shall consume 10 mg of iron supplements every day and ensure a healthy delivery in the end.
Good Idea.
