  • 3 MONTHS!
  • I want to know everything and I began drawing my own conclusions but I can't do that now. "How long have I been here?" I ask. Ian responds with, "You came here right before Halloween and it's February 11th." THREE MONTHS! That's how long I've been here?! I thrash my hands in desperation. I need to get out of here now! "Calm down. You're heart rate will increase." I watched him reach for the narcotics dial again. "Okay, I'm calm! See. I'm fine." He looks back down at me who must look completely helpless. Not only do I look helpless, I feel helpless. I notice how skinny I've got. I was like a twig! "I mean it," he says "If you're not calm you'll destabilize and they might move you to the main research lab.

  • I got an idea. He obviously had a crush on me. I could use this info to manipulate him. "I want to stay here with you." He mentions how he should report this to get my meds adjusted. I persuade him otherwise by saying I waited to wake up with just him. I manage to get him to lighten up on my meds every now and then so we could talk. He blushed at one point and I knew my plan was working. "You smell like the outdoors," I say. "Like the forest. Could you bring me something green to smell?" He was surprised but promised to bring me something green to smell. It sickened me, the thought that I'm trapped in this hell. "Please you have to get me out of here!" I explain at Ian.

  • He reaches for the dial on my IV again. "Don't get excited," he says. "It's your job to sleep." He's just a tool I thought to myself, and not decent at all. He smears a touch of gel on my eyelids. "Kiss me goodnight Ian," I whisper. This is the only trick I have left to play and hope it works. He leans closer and kisses my forehead. Then my lungs fill with pure loneliness, and I'm back to the airless agony at the bottom of my pond.
