- Here is after Ma and Cotton, patinas best friend showed up to surprise patina for her track meet. Which was planned by uncle tony. This meant alot to patina since she doesn't go to school with cotton and her mom never goes to practice since she needs her blood cleaning. Cottons brother takes them to the track meet they get there and wish patina good luck. As Ma, Maddy, and Cotton head to the bleachers to have a seat with Ma's wheelchair. After the boys 4 by 800 it's the girls turn to race. They start off bad with the first girl who does not pace herself and when time comes to pass the baton the first girl struggles to make the pass. And then it happens the baton hits the ground and when all hope is lost Patina remembers the lesson coach taught her and tells her teammate to pick it up and keep running, With that the other teams have a gap on them and are ahead but soon the baton makes it to the third leg and coming her way. As patina get ready to run she gets cheered by and then gets the baton handed and she starts to catch up with the other team. Now it's her and this girl racing for first and her legs start to give out as they both are neck to neck for the finish line.
