Radha! Looking upon the symptoms, my most probable diagnosis is that you have iron deficiency anemia which is very common in pregnant females but can be overcomed so you need not worry. I can help you.
In this case, what are your recommendations?

Doctor, looking at the current conditionof my daughter-in-law whois five-months pregnant, I personally suggest to eatiron rich food insteadof takingpills.
If it would be normal situation then we could have worked according to your recommendations but as she is pregnant and has iron deficiency anemia which can also lead to pre-mature birth and thus I am advising iron pills as they are more effective and quick in action.

But doctor, I have heard that iron rich foods have many advantages like it promotes healthy pregnanacy and increase energy.

Though medication is not cost effective but on the other hand it is important to take care that iron deficiency does not pass onto the child or else it will cause a major complications.

Additionally, don't you think that thecost of medication is more than the cost of dietary supplements?
I can understand your concern that iron pills can have certain side effects like gastritis but on the other hand it has more advantages and effectivity than iron rich diet.
