FDR is Elected President, Proposes New Deal
Hello, I am Franklin Delano Roosevelt speaking. I am here to inform you that I have been elected as the 32nd President of The United States of America. During my first 100 days in office, I will make my promise come true to the American people. Starting my first day in office, I will enact the New Deal, a program that will benefit the American economy and people.
Unemployment has exponentially grown to 3.2 million in March of 1930, up from 1.5 million before the October 1929 stock market crash. Homelessness has also grown as well.
America Slowly Rebuilds, again
From 1930 to 1936, the American prairie lands turned into a long-lasting, dry event known as the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl was a period of severe dust storms that greatly damaged the ecology and agriculture of the American and Canadian prairies during the 1930s.
Great Depression Over, America Enters WWII
Franklin Delano Roosevelt promises a New Deal. He delivered his promise when he was elected as the 32nd President of The United States (POTUS) on November 8th, 1932. He entered office on March 4th, 1933.
As a result of the New Deal by President Roosevelt, the Emergency Banking Act was signed into law to stabilize the banking system, Federal Emergency Relief Act/Agricultural Adjustment Act signed into law, The Tennessee Valley Authority was established to build dams on the TN River, the Public Works Administration was established, and many more programs were launched for the American economy and country to get back on its feet.
Unemployment rate decreased from %17.2 in 1939 to %9.9 in 1941 when WWII started and sharply decreased during the war to as low as %1.2 in 1944. During WWII, many people were very active in supporting America by manufacturing weapons and materials, being doctors in a medical institution and in the military, and other jobs.
