Gene, Im sorry it's time for you to leave. Finny needs to be alone.
"What is it Gene?"

Gene is talking to Finny about what they remember happened when Finny fell.
Finny is starting to say that he had a feeling that something else happened on the tree and that's why he fell. he stopped and said that "you can't say anything for sure from just feelings." he apologized to Finny about the feeling he had. He was formulating new commandment: Never accuse a friend of a crime if you only have a feeling he did it.
"Oh no, I wouldn't do that"(71).
"You aren't going to start living by the rules, are you"(69).
Gene was about to tell Finny what really happened and what he did, but as soon as he was mustering up the courage to attar the conversation, Dr. Stanpole came in and said it was time for him to leave.
The Summer Session officially closed and Gene headed to his hometown for vacation. He went there for about a month.
