- Hey, Amina (my sister) I noticed that some of our math experiences were different ?
- Yeah, I noticed that too during the interview.
- For example, I had a class with alot of students in it. Why was your class smaller?
- Yeah, I only had three to four students in my classroom. I had audiotary disability. However, it helped me in recieving one-on-one support from my teacher
- I am glad that the teachers were supportive. I loved my teachers too.
- Yeah, and they would let me use the calculator and a 100 chart. They also gave me other accomodations and modification
- That is really nice because I was not allowed to use a calculator, and I did not have a 100 charts to help with multiplication. I still really like math.
- Math is my favorite subject too.
- What is your biggest takeway from this interview?
- Mine was that schools that are high in poverty may not have all the resources to support students and give them oppurtunities to further their education; or have less experienced teachers.
- How has this interview made you think more deeply about your role as a math teacher
- it has inspired me to become a math teacher who makes every student feel apprecitve. Also, have a enviorment that is accepting and students feel safe.
