- In the story the citizens of Maple street were doing their daily activities and then they saw a flash of light and then their power went out and one of the people went to see if the next street over had powere and while he was gone they were trying to figure out what happened and then Tommy said that this sounded like in his comic book an the people were skeptical at first but then one of their cars started and they started to blame him and then they saw someone walking towards them and Charlie shot him only to find out that it was Pate Vanhorn coming back from the next street over and he was dead then everyone started accusing Charlie of being the monster and he was straying to explain that he didn’t know and that he was just shooting out of fear and then the people of maple street started chasing him until they got to his house and he claimed to know who the monster was he said that the monster was Timmy the little boy and then the people started arguing and blaming one on other then we see 2 figures at the end explains how humans can be their worst enemy.
