- Lucia and Frankie are at the beach, and Lucia tells him that they should be getting home soon because it's getting late and Mama is waiting for them. But, Frankie say if they can stay a little longer because there is no school tomorrow. Lucia tells him that Mama is making her famous flan and he is so happy that he say that they need to get home right away.

- After coming back from a school dance, Lucia saw the police offices handcuffing her Papa. They are arresting him because they think he is hiding something from the government.

- To protect Lucia and Frankie from the government in Cuba, Mama and Papa are sending them to America alone, so they can be safer than they were.

- Because they caught Lucia and Frankie together, when they couldn't be together at that time. The church were thinking of separating Frankie, and make him go to another school. But there was a opening with a family from Nebraska, so Lucia and Frankie went to Nebraska so they can stay together.

- After staying at the church, Lucia and Frankie were at Nebraska and staying with the Baxter family. Lucia was happy that her and Frankie were together still and staying with a lovely family.

- After a long time of waiting and talking on the phone. Mama and Papa finally got a visa to go to America. Lucia and Frankie were so excited to see them and so were them. The Alvarez family was finally together again.
- We miss you guys too. Oh look at how grown up you are.
