- On December 1865, Nathan B Forrest and 4 other friends made the KKK. It was originally created in an effort to cure their boredom but quickly transformed into something else. The activities that they did when the Klan first started included walking around town and performing rituals while wearing bed sheets as costumes.
- The KKK started to transform into a terrorist group when African Americans started to fear them. They were afraid of them because they looked like the ghosts of dead confederate soldiers. When the KKK found out that African Americans were so scared of them, they started focusing their activities around harassing them and other minorities.
- The KKK became a terrorist group and their activities consisted of lynching, patrolling (making sure that minorities are not breaking the law), and other acts of extreme terrorism. At this point, the KKK had gotten so large that 25% of all southern counties had it in some form. The supporters of the KKK were the democrats. Although their terrorism was truly disturbing, they met a swift death in 1871.
