- Cindy's parents are telling her that they are taking her older brother Rob and going away for the weekend, leaving Cindy home alone.
- You need to study for finals so you can stay home this weekend
- We are trusting you to be responsible
- I cannot wait to tell Renee that I will be home alone all weekend.
- Later that day...
- My parents and brother are leaving for the weekend, which means I get the house to myself!
- Cindy is talking to her bestfriend Renee .
- I could throw a party and become more popular, but an underage friend could leave my house and crash ,which could lead to paralysis, disfigurement, brain damage and death.
- We should throw a party and I can get the alcohol and invite everyone! We would totally be the cool ones.
- Cindy is aware that if she threw a party and her parents could be held liable and face jail time. Cindy remembers it being called the Social host liability law.
- I could stay home alone and study so that I can show my parents I am responsible and not put myself and others in a potential fatal outcome ,but that would also mean that I won't be going up in social rankings. My entire weekend would be long, tiresome and a lot of time to study.
