- In 1753, The French troops that came from Canada had marched south, they took hold and protected the Ohio Valley. The Britain protested the invasion and claims Ohio for itself.

- ''I King George lll, claim British territory in North America.''
- In 1754, (The first battle) Washington defeats French in a surprise. His troops retreat to Great Meadows and builds Fort Necessity.

- The Treaty of Paris of 1763 ended the French and Indian War, which lasted 7 years between Great Britain and France. France had gave up all its territory in mainland North America, effectively ending any foreign military threat to the British colonies there.
- Townshend Acts

- Proclamation of 1763, proclamation declared by the British crown at the end of the French and Indian War in North Americans by checking the encroachment of settlers on their lands.
- In 1765 Parliament passed the Quartering Act that said the colonist needed to find or pay lodging for British soldiers stationed in America. Many colonists saw no need for soldiers to be stationed in the colonies because the French and Indian War was over.
- The law Townshend Acts that was passed in 1767, had required the colonists pay taxes on imported goods like tea. Many colonists felt that they should not pay these taxes, because they were passed in England by Parliament, not by their own colonial governments.
