I become the most successful man by establishing a colony between the Brazos and the Colorado river. I issued 297 land grants which then benefited for the families too. I am proud and convinced!

Hello, my name is James K. Polk and the war with Mexico would bring Texas, New Mexico, and California into the Union. I had a nickname which was ¨Polk the Purposeful¨ and then sent a Spanish-speaking emissary, my fellow friend John Slidell to Mexico to purchase California and New Mexico. My main goal was that I wanted to gain approval of the Rio Grande as the Texas border. After all this, I ordered General Zachary Taylor to march to the Rio Grande and blockade the river. Overall this message I was sending went on to persuade the House to recognize a state of war with Mexico by vote
