- "I do not judge you. The magistrate sits in your heart that judges you."
- "Spare me! You forgot nothin' and forgive nothin'!"
- I have made you a gift today, Goody Proctor. It's a doll!
- "I have come on my own, without the court's authority."
- In the first scene it takes place in Proctor's household, where John and his wife, Elizabeth have a cold a distant conversation. The distance between Elizabeth and Proctor is the affiar he had with Abigail. The conversation changes the tone when it is revealed to Elizabeth and John had recently been alone with Abigail, and lied t her about it.
- "Do you know your commandments Elizabeth?"
- Their servant, Mary Warren returns home from a day at the court in Salem. John s furious and he told Mary she was to not to go into the town. To make up for her disobedience, Marry presents Elizabeth with a poppet she made for her earlier that day.
- "I will fear nothing."
- The reverend Hale comes to visit the home of Proctors. Hale informs them Elizabeth name has been mentioned in the court, and he has come to vestigate why. Reverend Hale asks them both to recite the 10 commandments.
- "My wife will never die for me."
- Reverend Hale asks John Proctor to recite the 10 commandments. John Proctor recites them hesitantly, and struggles to think of the last one. ELizabeth is forced to remind him that the one he has forgotten is in fact adultery,
- "I surely do."
- Giles Corey comes to the Proctor house to inform John that his wife and Francis Nurse wife has been arrested. RIght after, Cheever and Herrick goes to Proctors house to arrest ELizabeth for her attempted murder of Abigail. They had discover the poppet that Mary Warren gave to Elizabeth, with a nedle stuck in it just as one ahd been stuck n Abigail.
- At the end of the scene Cheever and Herrick takes ELizabeth to prison.
- "I cannot do it, I cannot."
