  • Louis Pasteur was born on December 27, 1822 in Dole, son of Jean-Joseph Pasteur and Jeanne-Étiennette Roqui. The couple had five children, but only two of them survived to adulthood: Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Luise. The other three died early, affected by typhus.

  • His first ambition was to be an art teacher. In 1842, after being a teacher at the Royal School of Besançon, he obtained his university degree from Bachelier ès Sciences Mathématiques. In August 1847 he obtained his Doctorate in Sciences (Docteur ès Sciences) at the Faculty of Sciences in Paris, with a thesis in Physics. Chemistry was a French chemist, physicist, mathematician and bacteriologist.
  • He is responsible for the technique known as pasteurization (removing part or all of the germs from a product by raising its temperature for a short time) that allowed autoclave sterilization to be developed. definitively refuted the theory of spontaneous generation and developed the germ theory of infectious diseases, today it is fundamental in modern medicine and clinical microbiology, which led to such important innovations as the development of vaccines, antibiotics, sterilization and hygiene with the discovery of tartaric acid dimorphism, whose discoveries had enormous importance in various fields of natural sciences, especially in chemistry and microbiology.
