Athena, disguised as Mentes, travels to Ithaca and advises Telemachus to search for Odysseus. Athena also instructs Telemachus to call and assembly of Penelope's lusty suitors and demand they leave. Lastly, Athena tells him he must sail to Pylos and Sparta to find news of his father.
Book 4
Telemachus assembles the suitors, calls them out for there disgraceful behavior, and tries to shame them into leaving. One of the suitors, Antinous, claims it's Penelope's fault for tricking them into waiting so long. Telemachus tells them that if he finds out Odysseus is dead, his mother will remarry. Athena helps Telemachus obtain a ship and crew, and they take off that night
