In this part of the scene, it is just after Caesar's funeral and they are trying to figure out what to do with anyone involved in his death. They aren't holding anything back; they will kill anyone involved.
Act 4 Scene 2

After Lepidus leaves, Antony and Octavius continue talking. They discuss who should now be the ruler of Rome and how many there should be. Then they start to disagree. Antony proclaims that he is more wise and he knows what is best because he has lived longer. Antony then says that Lepidus needs training like he did for his horse. He will then be a great asset to them.

Act 4 Scene 2

At the start of scene 2 of Act 4, Brutus and Pindarus are talking about how there is tension between Brutus and Cassius. Pindariius thinks that Cassius will arrive with respect and honor, but Brutus doesn't know what to think. Once Cassius arrives, Brutus doesn't know what to do.

Act 4 Scene 2
'Tis better that the enemy seek us; So shall he waste his means, weary his soldiers, Doing himself offense, whilst we, lying still, Are full of rest, defense, and nimbleness.
Once Cassius enters he quickly accuses Brutus of doing him wrong. Brutus is then quickly to say that he could not wrong him because he was his brother (brother-in-law). Brutus then wants to go to talk about this more privately, and then they start arguing.
After a while, the Poet comes in and tries to resolve the issues between Brutus and Cassius. They then become angry with him and send him off. Then once Brutus and Cassius are alone again, Brutus tells him that Portia is dead.
Then Brutus and Cassius start talking strategy. They know they need to defeat Octavius and Antony so they brainstorm ideas. They decide to wait until their enemy is vulnerable after they waste their resources and soldiers by trying to seek them. Then they will be at full defense and ready to attack with full strength. They are now great allies again.
