Mom, today in school we learned how different colours affect our moods, feeling, and behaviour. Our teacher also told us that even research suggests that specific colours may affect our mood, attention, appetite, and energy levels.

That is very interesting. Just like in marketing and graphic designers, they use plus colours because they know how colours shapes behaviour. In branding designs companies use colours to affect how we feel about their products.
I've been reading this book written by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe and he was the first to correlate colours to specific emotional responses in his book. He also decided colours into two categories, plus and minus.

Well kiddo that's because these colours make you feel calm. You see, Human attention is frequently drawn to the most vivid colours in the immediate environment. Places like doctors office's are painted in soft whites, blues, and greens to calm the human body.
