  • We declare that slaves are not citizens of the U.S., and they can not rely in the federal government or courts for protection, and Congress has no authority to ban slavery in federal territory
  • Slaves are citizens and deserve rights and protection, BAN SLAVERY!
  • No they are not, they shouldn't have protection, GO SLAVERY!

  • A very big majority of the slaves do jobs like picking cotton, planting and harvesting rice, tobacco, and sugarcane.
  • What do the other percentage slaves do?
  • The other small percentage of slaves do other tasks that domestic servants do, and even sometimes laborers or craftsmen, for example if there were extra slaves, which was not unheard of, then they sometimes would work in factories or mills.

  • Although slavery is really popular, a lot of baptist encouraged improvement of treatment toward slaves, using the bible as justification, and slaves were allowed to meet for Christian services
  • Lots of times after the regular worship services, rural slaves would stay for dancing or singing, in churches or praise houses on the plantation, however slaveholders didn't allow dancing, or drums, as like what would happen in Africa.
