Welcome to your freshman year Of Highschool! For this first semester we will be learning about Democracy.
The first word we are gonna learn is "Citizenship" The definition for it is, the position or status of being a citizen of a particular country.
One way of showing good citizenship is by signing a petition , signing a petition is basically a request to do something most common addressed to the government.
Mr you forgot about trying to persuade a person to vote a certain way, like listing reasons why voting could be good to a relative or friend
-Paying taxes-Serving as juror-Naturalization
Some other things we will be learning is:
Paying Taxes goes to many places, it goes to peoples salaries, help fix damaged roads, or they could fund public libraries and parks.
Naturalization is the process of becoming citizen in the U.S. if you were born out of the United States.
Respect the rights, beliefs, and opinions of others. Participate in your local community. Pay income and other taxes honestly, and on time, to federal, state, and local authorities.Respect and obey federal, state, and local laws
These listed are the responsibilities and obligations of citizenship. Very important for the 50 question test at the end of the quarter
Mr Jones class was so boring i fell asleep. Do you have notes?
Serving as a juror is when a US citizenis summoned to serve on a jury in a court proceeding
I also heard another way citizens can participate in democracy is by serving the country through military or other service.
Hope you guys all had a good first day!
have a good one everybody!
