- I'm Everett C. Mark, but you may know me as Harlequin. I was brought here after they said I failed to reform because the controller of our community, the Ticktockman was late and they blamed me.
- I'm Leonard Mead. I was brought here by police when I was out walking instead of staying inside.
- Hi! I'm Jonas. I just sledded here. This house looked brightly lit but what is this place?

- Where I am from they control the community by controlling time. The society is obsessed with time and order and I did pranks to try and make people late.
- This is a center for people who don't fit in with the community. My community is controlled by technology. Everyone is in their houses glued to their screens. I did not fit in because I prefer to be out in nature walking.
- Oh! That makes sense, I escaped my community because where I am from they controlled our feelings, emotions, and choices, however I was different I could see and feel things, I guess my escaping with Gabriel was my rebellion.

- Where I am from they deduct the minutes you are late from your life. When you run out of time, you are dead.
- This is Gabriel. I had to rescue him because where I am from they "release" people when they no longer serve the community. They were going to kill him.
- Where I am from people are dead inside because all they do is stay inside and watch television.
