  • This picture represents the Maine. This was a American battleship. On February 15, 1898 The Maine was blown up. This happened in the Harbor of Havana Cuba. This topic made the United States to declare war on Spain. Many people died during the sinking of the ship and caused disaster for the Americans.

  • This picture represents the Spanish-American War. This war was caused because Cuba wanted freedom from Spain. This was the year 1898 April 25th. Spain freed Cuba. Also gave Guam and Puerto Rico to the United States, later they sold the Philippines to the United States. This happened because of the Peace Treaty.
  • This picture represents the Russian Revolution. This was in 1917. A man named Czar Nicholas was overthrown. Then there was the Bolshevik party which Lenin was the leader. The people wanted communism. This is when people own land, factories and businesses. Then there was a peace treaty signed by Germany that made people gain control.
