  • It was the 1930s and the British Colonial Rule was very strong and kept implementing harsh decision on the natives

  • Indians were troubled my the government's brutality and their repressive laws. They felt harassed and mistreated and embarrassed They began wanting for freedom.
  • Our business is suffering losses but the government has increased the taxes yet again.
  • My crop has failed but I still have to pay revenue.

  • Mahatma Gandhi decided to launch the Civil Disobedience Movement in 1930.
  • We have had enough. Now, we will fight for poorna swaraj!

  • Gandhi Ji marched to, Dandi for breaking the salt law. There, he boiled seawater to manufacture his own salt. This marked the start of the Civil Disobedience Movement.

  • Indians participated in the movement with great enthusiasm. Foreign good were boycotted, shops picketed and buildings attacked. People violated all the laws.
