- Exposition- Grandfather buys a python from a snake charmer in a bazaar for six rupees.
- I look better than Kim k.
- Rising action- Grandmother and grandfather argue whether to keep or get rid of the python. She was tolerant towards most birds animals, but drew a line at reptiles. Grandmother told him that it would strangle him and everyone will get scared especially his cousin Mabel.
- Rising action(2)- Grandfather kept the python in a steep-sided tin tub in the bathroom temporarily so he can decide after finding the snake charmer back in the bazaar. The python disappeared, and made series of appearances often in unexpected places. Under the cushion, in the garden, on the dressing table,
- Climax- Before Aunt Mabel left she said that it looked like the python really liked admiring himself. So grandfather made a large cage with a mirror at one end; juicy chicken and other delicacies with a trapdoor fitted at the opening.
- Falling action- The python was trapped. Grandfather did not want to kill it so he took it to the jungle.
- Resolution- Once the python was free, he still didn’t leave his cage! He remained there staring at his reflection. He made no attempt to get out too.
