- But Caesar will be crowned and he may become a tyrant! We should kill him before he becomes one.
- For my part, I know no personal cause to spurn at him. (II, i, 10-11)
- Brutus was at his house considering whether to kill Caesar or not.

- Caesar must be dead, but Antony doesn’t. He can do nothing without Caesar! My friends, let us be sacrificers, not bloody butchers.
- Cassius and other conspirators came to Brutus's house to talk about the assassination.

- The augurers found no heart in the beast. Calphurnia begged again, and Caesar finally agreed to stay home.

- I’ll tell you why I’m not going today, Decius, because I love you. Calphurnia dreamt tonight seeing my statue with plenty of holes, running blood, and the Romans bathed their hands in it, smiling. Therefore she begged me to stay home.
- Your statue spouting blood in many pipes, In which so many smiling Romans bath’d, Signifies that from you great Rome shall suck Reviving blood, and that great men shall press For tinctires, stains, relics, and cognizance. (II,ii,85-89)
- Decius came to make sure Caesar would go to the Capital. Caesar changed his mind again.
