As a baby with colic, one of the only things that could calm me down was Finding Nemo... that and Justin Timberlake's song "Rock Your Body".
I was so obsessed with everything the movie offered, the color, the sounds, the advenutre. In fact, I was so obsessed I would watch the movie on repeat, day and night.
NOOO!!
I overanalyzed movies so much, that it got to the point where I could find minor mistakes no one else would have noticed. At this point, my mom suspected that watching too many movies became bad for me. So, she took them away.
Nemo's gonna be the death of me.
Finding Nemo
Little did she know, Finding Nemo was the origin story of dedicating myself to film and storytelling for the rest of my life.
Needless to say, I was not happy about being deprived of my movies. In a way, they were educating me on the art of cinematography, storytelling, and design.
It only took a little while for my mom to figure out that my ability to find mistakes, to engulf myself in the movie, was not due to over obsession but talent and passion. I eventually got Nemo back, and the rest is history.
