- Man, I thought that was him. We were planning on having lunch today so I'm going to talk to him about it.
- Hey Jimmy how's it going? Remember the party we went to last week, I think I saw Luke drinking...
- I know what alcohol can do to a person, my dad is an alocholic. I don't want Luke to turn out the same way.
- My uncle started drinking when he was a teenager and he turned into an alcoholic. There has to be some sort of statistic about that.
- Later that day...
- Hey man! Glad you could make it. I was just wanting to ask... were you drinking at that party last week?
- Yeah... that was me. My grandma died the week before, and my mom went to the hospital a few days before the party.
- One Month Later
- You can't be doing that Luke. Did you know that if you drink as a teen you are 40% more likely to become an alcoholic? I don't want you to go down that path.
- I know, I need to stop. My dad has always told me to not drink underage because he knew lots of people who did, and became alcoholics.
- Have you thought about getting help? I think talk therapy or calling a hotline could really help you.
- Yeah I plan on calling the Drug and Alchol Hotline (1-800-662-HELP). I heard it was a good place to go if you're sturggling with alcohol.
- Hey guys did you know today marks my one month of sobriety? The help I got really made me realize I needed to quit drinking.
- That's great for you Luke! I'm proud of how far you've come.
