Storyboard Text

  • During a time of racial inequality, her success made an impact on the African American community
  • She is known as being one of the first African American women to become a self made millionaire for her hair products that would completely change the black hair care industry forever.
  • Im a millionare and i made these products
  • A legacy Walker left for future generations is being the first ever female millionaire, and not only the first black female millionaire but the first female millionaire in the U.S
  • She also shares her wisdom by empowering other women
  • I am a millionaire!!!
  • You go girl!!!!
  • Education and entrepreneurship is something she believed in.
  • Study hard kids and get good grades!!!
  • Some things I am able to learn through Walker's experiences is to never give up on what you're passionate about because even through all your struggles you should never give up on what you want to pursue in life. She motivates me to help other women by making products or talk about the struggles some of us have to go through. The most memorable thing I have learned about Walker is that even with racial segregation she still pursued what she wanted to do in life. I think people do not often hear about Walker because there are more important people to learn about rather than the first woman millionaire but I would have to disagree because I think she is a very important person that many should hear about.
