- Sub-plot means a secondary storyline in a story or play.This is an example of Sub-plot because flashbacks are secondary storylines in the story but is not apart of the actual plot.

- Inference means a conclusion one can draw from the presented details; educated guessThis is an example of Inference because the detective is using the information from the crime scene to solve who the murderer is.
- Motivation
- I need to keep training so I can win the tournament and pay for my dog's surgery.
- Allusion means an indirect reference to a famous person, event, or place.This is an example of allusion as the ref is comparing his skill at basketball to the famous NBA pro-Kobe Bryant.
- Parrallel episodes
- COME OUT YOUR HOUSE OR ILL BLOW IT ALL DOWN!!!
- Idiom means a group of words having a meaning different from the literal words.This is an example of an Idiom because the teacher told Jack to pull himself together which means to calm down but the words do not literally mean that.
- I HATE SCHOOL I HATE YOU SCHOOL SUCKS!!!
- Motivation means the reason behind a character's behaviors and actions in a given scene or throughout a story.This is an example of Motivation because the person who is training to compete in the tournament is motivated to do so because he needs to pay for his dog's surgery.
- Parallel episodes means the repetition of certain elements or events in the plot.This is an example of Parallel episodes because the wolf in the "Three little pigs" threatens to blow each of the three pig's houses down.
