- Hey, lets sit down, there is a lot to say about that
- Walking through the woods one day, A son turned to his mother and asked what kind of rock he found was. The mother sat him down for a detailed explanation.
- Hey Mom! What kind of rock is this??
- The mom studied the rock and determined that it was a sedimentary rock. She showed her son all of the different looking particles in the rock and told him that those are called sediments.
- Sediments solidify to one another which create sedimentary rocks
- METAMORPHIC
- The boy was so intrigued and wanted to know more! His mom gold him that there was something called the Rock Cycle.

- She started off by telling the boy about each type of rock and how they are formed.
- Wow! 3 different Rock types!?
- Sedimentary, Igneous,andMetamorphic!
- Sedimentary rocks are pieces of other rocks or fossils, or shells from the sea that solidify together making one rock.
- They can even have parts from preexisting igneous or metamorphic rocks
- Igneous rocks are formed during a process of melting rocks and cooling them which is when they crystallize (form crystals). These types of rocks can form underground or on the earths surface.
