Why do we have to pay more than the soldiers do? we dont have a lot of money.
Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays led an armed rebellion in Springfield, Massachusetts to protest what he perceived as the unjust economic policies and political corruption of the Massachusetts state legislature.

The rebels were mostly ex-Revolutionary War soldiers-turned farmers who opposed state economic policies causing poverty and property foreclosures. The rebellion was named after Daniel Shays, a farmer and former soldier who fought at Bunker Hill and was one of several leaders of the insurrection.

In Massachusetts farmers and farm hands had to pay any goods they bought with currency the soldiers did not have to do that.

Daniel Shays and others decided to respond to the taxation issue by protesting. They kept protesting because no military or nothing was there to stop them. The federal government had found it difficult to set up a military force.
Daniel Shays and other leaders decided to take the protests further they took armory in springfield and massachusetts they used the weapons but they were shot my the military that was finally organized.
The Massachusetts government passed the Disqualification Act on February 16, 1787 The act attempted deal with the 4,000 rebels who had decided to take up arms against the state government. The 18 leaders were all sentenced to death and the rest of the followers paid nine pence.
