  • Welcomeback guys to yet another deep dive on the ancient world... today we are learning about ancient Egypt!!! As you can see, I'm at some of the largestpyramids. These massive triangular things were actually tombs... When the pharaohswould die, they would be buried here with their valuables, such as gold. They would also create a mask that used the facial features of the dead pharaohfor the Sarcophagi they would be laid in.
  • As you can see here, this hat that I am wearing symbolizes the pharaohs connection and joint leadership with both upper and lower egypt. Originally, it was one hat, they white one for Upper egypt and the red one for lower. Eventually, King Menes came and decided to change that. He combined both of them and it stuck. All Pharaohs after him wore this.
  • There is a river that divides Egypt. It is called the Nile river. This helped form invaders and many other threats. They also were right next to a lot of arid and very dry deserts which made Egypt very well protected from invaders. The odd thing about the Nile river was the fact that it flows from South to North, which made Upper egypt the bottom part of egypt and vice versa.
  • The Ancient Egyptians built a massive statue of the Sphinx. This was like a giant man lion. It has gone into many fantasy books and other media over time, But anyways, this massive statue has survived for a long time. Even through tough wind storms and other natural occurrences, it has survived. The only part of it today that is damaged was the nose during what Historians think was a gunfight.
  • While almost every single pharaoh had been male, there was one female one. Her name was Hatshepsut. She was married to the pharaoh, and he died. The next successor was too young so she gained power.
  • As you can see here, the Egyptians created Pyramids as tombs for their pharaohs. They believed in something called the after life, which means life after death. They would bury their pharaohs with their valuable items so they would have them in the after life.
