- We must come up with a new strategy. Let's head to the South.
- We have successfully taken over these states and now it is time for me to leave. Cornwallis will be in charge now.
- Attack!!!
- After the British failed to conquer states in the North they decided to go to the South where a lot of loyalists were at.
- They successfully attacked Savannah, Georgia, and then went to North and South Carolina to take control. Clinton then went back to NYC leaving Cornwallis in charge.
- Let's leave to Yorktown!
- The British learned that they didn't actually control both Carolinas because guerillas like Francis Marion (Swamp Fox) and his rebels attacked them.
- I am the commander of the continental army!
- Greene was sent to the south to slow the British down but his army was too small for a big battle. He instead chased the British troops through southern backcountry.
- This worked causing Cornwallis to move his army to Yorktown, so they can rest.
- Nathanial Greene was the commander of the continental army and was really close to Washington. He helped the army in many different areas. Francis Marion also known as Swamp Fox was a military officer and led a group of rebels through many victories.
- I am the Swamp Fox and I am a military officer in charge of a band of rebels.
