Storyboard Text

  • Hey mom! I would like to ask if what is our religion?
  • We are Roman Catholics, Anna.
  • Can I change my religion someday Mom?
  • As a your mom, that is a tough question haha
  • According to Article 3 Section 5of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, “No law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting thefree exercise thereof. The free exercise and enjoyment of religious profession andworship, without discrimination or preference, shall forever be allowed. Noreligious test shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights.”
  • I'm curious mom
  • Yes, of course Anna. It means that it includes the right to change your religion or beliefs at any time. You also have the right to put your thoughts and beliefs into action. This could include your right to wear religious clothing, the right to talk about your beliefs or take part in religious worship. Public authorities cannot stop you practising your religion, without very good reason.
  • Can you explain it to me mom?
  • What would happen if freedom of religion was taken away mom?
  • The government in any democratic nation would intervene if some religious group says that their religion allows them to practice infanticide because this tradition goes against the Fundamental Right to Life. It involves the killing of an innocent and is, hence, unacceptable.
  • I think that would be all Mom, Thank yor for answering all of my questions.
  • As your mother, it is my responsibility to respond to all of your inquiries. If you are thinking about changing your religion, it is dependent on your beliefs when you get older.
