  • After The Seven Years war, the British were extremely poor from their war efforts, so they decided to tax the thirteen colonies, (AKA the Americans)
  • 1756-1763

  • A colony south of Acadia called themselves Americans. Americans felt no loyalty towards Britain and were angry with the new taxes. They thought they were large enough to start a rebellion.
  • NO TAXES
  • We hate paying extra taxes! We feel no loyalty to Britain!
  • 1765
  • 1776
  • There were some people who were still loyal to Britain who were called loyalists Some loyalists even joined the British army. It became unsafe for loyalists in America. Thousands fled to Canada.
  • I feel loyal to the British, and will support them in any way!

  • While the Americans were planning a revolution, the British were planning for WAR!
  • We are Americans! We need INDEPENDENCE
  • Let´s start a revolution!
  • The Americans invaded Quebec city hoping that the Northern colonies would rise up against British rule. Unfortunately, the Canadians had allied with the British. And they both fought off America. The Americans lost the first war, but after 1 year they  won the second.
  • On July 4th, 1776. America defeated Britain and America was given independence. Thousands of loyalists fled to colonies in the north. (Canada) The loyalists were given land and tools for their loyalty.
