Remus was kidnapped by a group of thieves in a parade. Remus was accused of leading a band of thieves by Amulius. He was imprisoned. Faustulus had suspected that they were the sons of Rhea Silvia who had been sentenced to exposure by Amulius, he told no one about this to keep the twins safe from Amulius. Romulus then heard about his heritage and he wanted revenge. Romulus and Remus who had just been freed, killed Amulius with their friends. When Numitor heard about this he sent guards to deal with them. Remus and Romulus went to Numitor and said how he was king. Numitor told the nobles the story of how Amulius was evil and stole the throne from him. Numitor was appointed king. Remus and Romulus left to start their own civilization.
I am now king!
Romulus and Remus try to form a civilization and they both want the civilizations to be in different places and don't know who should be the king. They ask Numitor what they should do. He says that they should do an augury to decide.
I think you boys should do an augury!
What should we do?
Romulus and Remus got into a disagreement on how the augury gave them signs. Romulus thought since he had more birds that he should be the leader of the civilization and choose the location. Remus argued that he should be the one to be the leader and choose the location because he saw the birds first.
I have more birds so I should be the king and choose the location.
But I saw the birds first!
