Hello! Another semester over and I have learned so much from my Cultural Anthropology class! Looking back to my first story board I said that I only had a surface level understanding. I was excited to learn more and delve into different cultures and how anthropologist studies these different culture. Which I am happy to say I accomplished with this class.
I learned the different ways of studying cultures. How there are different methods of approaches to culture such as Ethnocentrism and cultural relativism. The more learned the more understanding I gained and personally believe to understand and learn of other cultural context you must do respectfully and without judgments. Each person and group of people have their own social, economical, traditional, and religious norms that may be different from your own. But deserve to be treated with respect and an open mind this I will continue to use.
My favorite subject I learned was the subject of how different cultures deal with death. So fascinating as in my culture it is something of a taboo and macabre subject. It was so enlightening to see how others embrace death and see it as time to mourn but also to celebrate and
